Emergency Relief Efforts
Afghanistan, a country affected by decades of war and internal conflicts is never exempted from unexpected incidents displacing people and destroying the minimal standard of living. Natural disasters- such as floods, heavy snows and earthquakes- too affect this basic and under-the-poverty-line living conditions. HIRA, with its strong team, is here providing emergency relief and lifesaving assistance to the affected people across Afghanistan. Our main program activities since the establishment have included projects in setting up tents and rebuilding emergency housing, water and sanitation, sustainable pastoralist activities, civil society and media development, small-scale enterprise development, primary school education, teacher training, adult literacy and vocational training. We aim to work with the already-established NGO’s working in the same field to better coordinate and reach to the affected people.
